From Zero to 14K – Tech Brand LinkedIn Marketing Case Study
Starting from scratch on LinkedIn? We’ve been there. When a technology company approached us with zero LinkedIn presence but big ambitions to outpace their competitors, we knew exactly what they were facing. Here’s how we turned their LinkedIn dreams into a follower-growing, engagement-boosting reality.

Quick Facts
Industry-Leaders Within a Year
5.5% Engagement Rate
14,500 Followers on LinkedIn
The Task
A growing technology company reached out with a challenging request: they wanted to establish a LinkedIn presence for their brand. They already had all the usual suspects covered: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, you name it, but LinkedIn was the missing piece of their social media puzzle.
Starting from absolute zero, we had clear benchmarks to beat. One of their main competitors had built up around 2,500 followers, while another rival sat at 4,000. The challenge was set: build something from nothing and make it count. This is exactly what our LinkedIn page management services are here for.
The Objective
Their goal was honest: they wanted a LinkedIn page primarily for PR reasons. To simply have one. And if possible? They wanted it to be the most followed page in their space.
Now, we'll be the first to tell you that follower count isn't usually the best KPI to chase (engagement and quality matter more, after all). But sometimes a client knows what they want, and our job is to deliver, which is exactly what we did.
The Challenges
The challenge was crystal clear: a brand with absolutely no LinkedIn assets, no established content strategy, and a minimal budget wanted to build a thriving presence on what's arguably the most expensive social platform out there.
We understood their frustration. LinkedIn can feel intimidating when you're starting from scratch, especially when you're watching competitors who've had years to build their presence.
The Solution
We rolled up our sleeves and got to work with a three-phase approach. Each phase was carefully planned to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
Phase 1: Deep Competitor Research
First, we dove deep into what their competitors were doing. We analyzed their posting frequency, ad strategies, visual styles, communication tone, and how LinkedIn integrated with their other social channels. Knowledge is power, and we wanted every advantage.
Phase 2: Strategic Planning
Based on our research and expertise, we created a comprehensive yearly strategy focused on building an active LinkedIn page. This included high-quality, professional content creation and coordination meetings with every division of the company to ensure alignment across the board.
Phase 3: Launch and Execute
Then came the fun part: execution. We launched their presence with their minimal budget, incorporating paid LinkedIn campaigns to accelerate growth. We also convinced them to rally their internal team through HR, encouraging employees to follow and share posts. We even suggested an internal competition to reward the most active content sharers with prizes (a little friendly competition never hurt anyone).
Our content strategy was comprehensive and engaging: in-depth employee interviews, company news, HR updates, colleague introductions and stories (both static and video), thought leadership content, product information, local community events, internship opportunities, and relevant industry statistics. Basically, anything professional that would resonate with their target audience. And it worked.
The Results
The numbers speak for themselves, and they do tell a great story.
In the first year, we not only caught up to their competitors but finished slightly ahead of them. By the end of the second year? We left them in the dust. While their rivals struggled with consistent content creation, we grew their follower base to over 14,500 with an impressive 5.5% engagement rate.
LinkedIn Follower Growth in 2 Years
But here's what we're most proud of: our targeted approach created a genuinely valuable community. Nearly 35% of their followers work in the same industry as the company, meaning we didn't just build numbers; we built the right audience.
From zero followers to becoming the most-followed page in their competitive space, that's what we call LinkedIn growth done right.
